01 THE CLAIM
“The video creator used AI to make $2000 profit in one week by creating
videos of a 70-year-old grandma. Monetized through TikTok Shop Affiliate.”
The score says the mechanism exists and the costs are survivable. This audit
asks the next question: what would it actually cost you to replicate it, and where does the
claimed 7-day window break?

04 THE MATH MODELED
True cost per video
- generation: 30s × $0.10/s = $3.00
- voiceover: ≈400 chars × $0.05/1k = $0.02
- your time: 45 min × $30/hr = $22.50
- true cost per video = $25.52 ≈ $25.50 (before $19.99/mo fixed)
What a video earns
TikTok Shop affiliate commissions run 5–20% of sale price, set per seller and
category. On typical $20–$100 items that is roughly $1–$20 per converting sale. The
creator’s conversion rate is UNVERIFIED, so we model three average
commission yields per posted video.

Sanity checks
- 119 × $16.98 = $2,020.62 ≥ $2,019.99 needed ($2,000 + $19.99 fixed) — clears
- 118 videos falls short at $2,003.64 — 119 is the floor
- 119 videos × 45 min = 89.3 hours of production in one week (12.8 h/day)
- at $10 average: 217.5 hours — more than 31 h/day, which does not exist
- labor at $30/hr → any average commission under $25.52/video is net-negative: you are paying to work
AMBER FLAG — PAYOUT LATENCY
TikTok Shop affiliate commissions settle roughly 15–45 days after order delivery
and the return window. The claim’s window is 7 days. Even a perfect week of sales cannot become
withdrawable profit inside the claimed window.
05 THE STEPS MODELED
Path to your first published video. Honestly generic until our probe runs — the launch playbook
replaces this with the measured sequence, including where we got stuck.
- Create the TikTok account and apply to TikTok Shop Affiliate. Note the follower minimum on fresh
accounts — this is the hidden queue (see 08).
- Pick one product niche with 10–20% commission and enough sellers to switch products without
switching formats.
- Script a 30-second video: hook, one product point, call to action. Roughly 400 characters of
voiceover.
- Generate the grandma footage on a Veo-class model: ~30s at ~$0.10/s ≈ $3.00 per video.
- Generate the voiceover (≈$0.02), assemble and caption in CapCut, export vertical 9:16.
- Publish with the affiliate product link. Log actual cost and actual minutes against the modeled
$3.02 and 45 min — your first two real data points.
06 WHERE THIS DIES
- Synthetic-content account bans. TikTok enforcement on undisclosed AI-generated
people is active and inconsistently applied. One strike can zero the distribution channel —
and the account is the entire business.
- Commission clawbacks. Returns and cancellations claw back affiliate commissions
before settlement. Gross commission on screen is not net commission in the bank.
- Payout latency vs the claimed window. ~15–45 day settlement means the
“$2,000 in one week” framing cannot be cash-in-hand in one week, even if every other
number holds.
- Saturation of the AI-grandma niche. The format is cheap to copy — that is
the pitch — so feeds flood with clones and per-video reach decays. Early-mover screenshots do
not price in the crowd they attract.
07 GO/NO-GO GATES
Pre-committed stop rules. Decide them now, while you are sober about the math.
- GATE 1 · WEEK 1First video live with all-in spend ≤ $30 (modeled:
$19.99 CapCut + $3.02 variable = $23.01). If setup costs blow past $30, the cost model is already
wrong — stop.
- GATE 2 · WEEKS 2–3Average ≥ 1,000 organic views per video
across your posted set. Below that benchmark the reach that carries the whole model is absent
— stop.
- GATE 3 · MONTH 1Settled commissions ≥ stack cost ($19.99 +
variable spend). If not, the arithmetic is telling you plainly: you are paying to work.

CLAIMED VS MODELED
Claimed: profit in 1 week. Modeled: first withdrawable dollar in
4–7 weeks — and the slow tail (45-day settlement, slow approval) runs past
10. The claim’s mechanism can work; its clock cannot.
